4/21/10: A Short Note To Our "Out of Country" Friends and Supporters: In trying to reply to your questions regarding shipping costs, our return email address is quite often being rejected by your servers. The cost for a USPS international priority (small box) mail (which holds up to around 8 DVD's) would be $12.78 for shipment to most countries. If unsure, please send us an email with your enquiry.
Attention: If possible, we wish you to use your secure PayPal account. Please indicate exactly what it is that you are purchasing in the comments block, also be sure to verify your complete mailing address. Send to (payee) webmaster@usssealion.com - Questions? Email us! PayPal accounts are easy to setup and secure for yourself as a buyer. PayPal is tied to the credit card that you list and no information is shared (with no buyer charge to you other than your exact purchase), we use it and highly recommend it's use to you! If you cannot or do not wish to use PayPal you may print out the above order blank, fill it out and send to us with your check. Unlike our next day service with PayPal, we will have to await your "snail mail" and payment clearance prior to filling your order.
Silent Service DVD's
Twenty two episodes of The Silent Service TV episodes (1957 – 1958) are now available in DVD format to members of the past and present submarine world. Each episode is about 20-25 minutes in length with the ads taken out, and come as 3 episodes per DVD. Quality is good to excellent considering they were B&W issues 52+ years ago. Identify your order of these DVDs on your PayPal order or using section 3 on the order blank if paying by check.
At this point, and after some 30 years of effort, we have no clear cut release from any "supposed" copyright owner (NBC, Paramount, Sony, GE, ad naseum) of these episodes and that is why it reads "suggested donation" for the dollar amounts below. This is also why you don't see these for sale on eBay nor to the "general" audience et al at this time. We're hoping to bury the issue (probably along with me) by the year 2011 and get them to USSVI at that time... Since a "cease and desist letter from NBC (16years ago) we have had the New York Post defend our actions with their editorials (and they're owned by GE which owns NBC = lots of fun over the years). NBC would not, nor could not prove ownership and would not release their right "if any" as our attorney tried to get them to do - so we all wait while the great men these stories tell of are dying out at an exponential speed. We even have a past President of NBC on our side of this fight. Can you imagine "joisting windmills" when you can't get them to stand still?

Note ** Those episodes so marked with are "quite grainy" in their appearance since they were taped from a live broadcast over 40 years ago from a low power UHF T.V. station to the receiving television set equipped with "rabbit ears" - BUT - viewing them now reminds us "old guys" of exactly how they looked when we viewed them "live" almost 50 years ago (and why a lot of us ended up on submarines!).
Note *** These two episodes had moving time stamps embedded in the original masters and not being able to remove these we have covered them over with our company logo - at least this way it is not as distracting as before.

War Patrol Reports
For the first time ever the total collection of WWII U.S. Naval Submarine War Patrol Reports are now available in PDF/JPEG format via DVDs/CDs. These reports have been languishing in the outdated microfiche /microfilm format since the late 60's - almost 50 years now. This offering is the culmination of a massive effort to have those microfilm records of some 255 submarines, making over 1,600 WWII war patrols brought up to current digital technology. To purchase your own microfiche copies from the National Archives, your cost would be over $4,900.00 for some 63,000 pages. All of these pages printed up (single sided) would result in a book over 22 feet long!
The general public, researchers, authors and submarine veterans alike will all benefit for years to come by being able to have easy access to these reports preserved in their “as written/as is” form. This is a snapshot of history at its best, written when and where it occurred with specific details that will take the reader back through time and bring them aboard that particular submarine as each occurrence happened.
HOW TO ORDER: You may order the reports for one sub, several subs, or the full collection of WWII. For mailing in your order, use the order form above. Print out the Blank Ordering Form (above) enter in your information as noted, enclose your payment and mail to the address as indicated. If using PayPal, follow instructions above.
NOTE: 9/1/09 - We now have the ENTIRE collection of war patrol reports available on just FOUR DVD's in a "compressed .pdf" format for the extremely low price of $79.95 for the entire collection - this is obviously a much more cost efficient method of purchase than ordering a single boat or even several at a time! Not a PayPal user? This is the safest and fastest method of purchase these days, check out the fatcs at their website www.paypal.com (buyers pay NO fees)!
"Before and After" Picture: Microfiche/film Boxes -vs- DVD Set (now on 4 DVD's)

A major factor in starting this whole project was to be able to provide a copy of the War Patrol Records to all the WW II Submarine veterans for the patrols they made. All of the war patrol reports will be sent in PDF (Adobe reader) format making it much easier to view, unless the JPG format is specifically requested!
The WWII U.S. Submarine War Patrol Reports DVD collection has been assigned an ISBN number of 13: 978-0-615-17769-4 for those of you needing this information for your purchase order. The entire set of all these war patrol reports (63,000 pages) can be yours in .pdf compressed format on four DVD's for just $79.95 + $6 Shipping by priority, boxed mail.
